I am not here to review the food. If you like to eat fries, you would like it no matter which restaurant. If you don't eat fried food, you probably would want to order salad if they have any. But, why do they call them “Ireland’s Potato”? It is not because their potatoes are from Ireland. It is because of the Ireland’s most famous proverb “There are two things that cant joke about. First is marriage and the other one is potato”. But why do Irish and Potato are entwined together? Because during 1845, Great Famine occurred in Ireland. Since most peasants’ foods depend on potato, it caused many deaths. Irish are afraid that this kind of great hunger would happen again if they joke about the potato.
今天不是來review食物, 因為你如果愛吃薯條 ,你就會覺得好吃 但是若平常不吃炸物 ,你應該根本不會去點. 但是他們為何要叫“愛爾蘭薯條”? 他們的馬鈴薯又不是愛爾蘭生產, 他們網站上寫到愛爾蘭有句諺語就是“絕對不要開婚姻和馬鈴薯的玩笑“, 但是卻沒解釋由來,其實在1845年愛爾蘭枯萎病疫情爆發, 靠著馬鈴薯生活的人民經歷了飢荒. 所以愛爾蘭人不想再經歷飢荒的生離死別 ,因此有了此句諺語!!
